Terrific Traffic!

Who doesn't like a free road? A smooth drive? To be able to reach your destination on time without hurdles and stoppages in between. 

But today, it was one of those days when reaching office turned out to be a herculean task. Yes, you guessed it right – Thanks to the traffic!

This encounter with the wave of cars and non-functional traffic lights left me cranky and brought my spirits down.

However, while I started penning this post to describe my terrific traffic episode, it struck me how traffic as a concept is such an integral part of our day-to-day lives. Traffic on the road, traffic towards reaching our goals, traffic in keeping our self motivated – it is practically everywhere. Like we may confront red lights and jams as we drive towards our target; we also have to face our own set of hurdles and challenges which try to knock us down in our quest to fulfill our ambitions.

Then I tried to reflect - would cribbing about the red lights, jams have helped me even one bit? The only thing that actually helped me was driving on. Driving on whenever the lights were green, whenever I could find a space to move forward, the continuous pacing on till i reached my office.

Infact, as an idea to escape this festivity type congregation of people on the roads I decided to leave much earlier from tomorrow. Early enough so that most people would not have yet started for their day and this way I could escape the crowd.

Doesn't this also hold true for our dreams. Start early, if possible before everyone else. Try to escape traffic and even if you feel that you've suddenly hit an impasse just be patient and wait for that opportunity which can catapult you towards your aim.

As the US President, Barack Obama rightly said, 

" If you're walking down the right path and you're willing to keep walking, eventually you'll make progress."

The essence is to Keep Marching On....

A New Monday!

What my brother called - Another Monday! I choose to call it - "A New Monday" and that is how this blog comes into inception.

The idea was to live more consciously, to be completely vigilant about how I choose to spend my time and within my thoughtlessness, in the almost empty bay of my monday morning office I attempted to start a blog.

Not that i have never had a blog before, but somehow I couldn't give it the energy to maintain it. But, this time I felt more self assured and confident of nurturing my space like never before.

You wouldn't believe I am writing all this sitting in the quiet of my office, with my manager sitting right opposite to me. Not that I do not have any work, I do! But, may be I am not ready to hit into the serious thoughts before grabbing a quick bite at the cafeteria.

A little distraction here after my colleague called out my name to share something regarding this interesting automation project in office these days. I kind of like it! By the way, just to share I am a Product Manager and that is why the automation comes in. This project is to automate the trending offers in the mobile app for our company.

It all cool here! However, what I like the most is the independence to quietly do your thing in peace when people have not reached office yet. (By the way its 10:35am now & folks don't seem to turn up before 11:30am). Afternoons are much noisy in my bay, everyone discussing things from one end to the other.

Can see a few guys popping up in office now. The usual Hie! starts there day.

Have a good friend at office (a guy, younger to me, of the age of my brother and v.brotherly) with whom I hang out to have food. So now, i am going to ping him on the gtalk and go ahead to have my healthy breakfast of oats!

By the way, I have oats daily! The Saffola oats, i kinda like its flavor. Have influenced people in my office as well, as even they have joined my bandwagon of daily oats eating :)

Just touched my self and realized i might be having a little fever. Should run and eat something before I fall ill.
